16 Canoes is a project to re-habilitate the closed-circuit television 'station' that is set up in Ramingining. This has been essentially non-functioning for some years, but the equipment is still in good condition. One of the attractions will be that for the first time, because of 11 Canoes, locally made material will be able to be screened. We are also intending to screen the raw footage of both 10 Canoes and 18 Canoes, so that not only will the whole community be able to be more involved in and informed about the production, but they will also, for the first time, be seeing television material in their own language.
